Independent Living
Uniquely designed to meet the changing needs of today's seniors, The Lakes at Pointe West is the retirement community you've dreamed about. Unhurried golf, easy-to-get-to shopping and beaches, your own private clubhouse, and a world of wonderful neighbors—like yourself—that want the best life has to offer. The Lakes at Pointe West is more than just a place to retire. It is a place to feel a part of life.
Whether you are volunteering in this wonderful, caring community, relaxing on the beautiful clubhouse porch, or playing a round of golf, you are doing so with full confidence that you are in the best of locations. There are friends who care about you, a staff who cares for you, and a peace of mind for your family that no one can put a value on! We think of it as independence when you want it, assistance if you need it.
Many benefits of living at The Lakes are obvious, some, not too obvious, yet very important to independent living.
Socialization
One of the most important advantages we have to offer is socialization. The ability for folks to interact with one another, enjoy the
camaraderie, and simply be surrounded by people with similar interests, is a vital ingredient to happiness.
Maintenance-free living
Let us do the work. No more home repairs to contend with! No grass to mow, weeds to pull, or gutters to clean. If the
plumbing needs repair, or carpets need cleaning... if it needs doing, we take care of it.
Personalization
Members bring their own furniture and decorate their home or villa to their unique personal satisfaction, so their
new home feels as comfortable as the home they may have lived in for many years.
Amenities and services
Having weekly housekeeping, a delicious dinner prepared for you daily, pool, fitness program, hair salon, computers,
library, putting green, dry cleaning service, all at your fingertips, is a welcomed reassurance to independent
living. Early risers will find coffee, juice, fruit and danish waiting each morning in the cafe, and lunch
available daily in the dining room. Happy hour with friends, cooking classes held by our chef, wine tasting,
golf leagues, bridge clubs, cultural outings, day trips, as well as errands, doctor appointments, and trips
to church, are all regular occurrences at The Lakes. Add to that the many ideas our members bring to us
for educational events and programs, and folks have a full day of doing just what they want to do.
Independence
Members are very pleased by the fact that they can continue to have their own cars and handle all their
transportation needs. However, if an occasion arises when they need additional assistance, they can rely
on us to get them to the doctor, arrange trips to the mall and grocery store. This is true independence; we
are there if and when needed, but you are still in charge.
Security and safety
Pointe West is a a gated community with staff that’s present 24 hours a day to respond to any emergency you may have, ensuring unparalleled peace of mind.
Transportation
Transportation to events and appointments is provided for all members at The Lakes. Our driver will see
that you arrive in style whether traveling in our beautiful luxury sedan or 15-passenger van.
Pets
Your loved pet (dog or cat) is a welcomed addition to The Lakes at Pointe West. When
moving to a retirement campus, many people find the many lifestyle changes a bit overwhelming.
Often having the companionship of a long-time friend such as the family pet, can be very
calming and reassuring that some things will never change! Pets also demand the outdoors,
and that will give you the "boost" to
get outside and enjoy the sunshine and take a walk in our beautiful community.
24-hour Emergency Call System
All homes have an emergency notification system as well as smoke detectors which alert our
24-hour staff inside the Pointe West community as to what emergency services are needed. Our
immediate response can make all the difference. This system is in the form or a push button/pull
cord transmitter mounted on the wall of every bathroom. Pendant or bracelet transmitters may be worn as well.
